It's alive!

The Library's new website is online at http://guides.library.bloomu.edu/HarveyAndrussLibrary. The content is the same as the old one with changes on the back end that should improve its functionality and the user experience.

Two changes of note:

1-  The Databases A-Z and Databases by Subject pages are merged. Either do a quick search by database name or use the drop-down menus to filter by subject and/or database type and/or vendor. For example, you can select 'Philosophy' for your Subject and 'Article Index/Abstract' for your Database Type:

2- The Ask A Librarian link now appears under the Harvey A. Andruss Library banner in the upper right corner on all guides. Look for it if you need to get 'live' help:

As fall semester approaches, we'll be putting the finishing touches on the site, fixing links, etc. If you discover any problems or dead links, please let us know via this form.

Thanks!

Andruss Library - Construction Update for Intersession, Aug 8-23

Over the intersession, August 8-23, construction work will return to the interior of the Library. This work is being scheduled for intersession so that there is less disruption during the regular semester. Additional study spaces are available on the upper floors. Below is a summary of the work and preparations.

  • First floor: Temporary plywood wall will come down, and permanent wall will be sheetrocked and painted. Carrels along the temporary wall will be unplugged and largely unavailable. Duct work in the ceiling of the main reading/group study room will be replaced, and most of that area will be unavailable.
  • Second floor: An office in back right corner will be roughed out with sheetrock.
  • Outside: Work continues in the bank between Waller and Andruss. The digging will move out in front of Waller. For about a week, the narrow steps up to the Waller lot will be unavailable.

If there are any questions, please feel free to ask any one of our library staff members at the Circulation desk.

Allentown School District

Rising seniors from Allentown School District in the Bloomsburg-Allentown Partnership (2015) are shown working on their biology posters in the Library. For the Biology portion of their time, students spent three full days in the Library researching and creating informational posters on a disease or condition, and on the fourth day they presented their posters in a Hartline classroom to their peers and to judges Dr. Angela Hess, Biology professor, Linda Neyer, Health Science Librarian, and the program assistants, who selected the best posters and awarded prizes. The students did a great job creating and presenting their posters.
