Curriculum Builder in BOLT

The Library recently collaborated with the Instructional Media and Design Center to implement Curriculum Builder in BOLT. What is Curriculum Builder? It is a BOLT plugin for the Library's EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS) called Search Everything @ BU that provides faculty with a way to create and manage course reading lists within BOLT for their students to electronic library resources like journals, ebooks, streaming video, and other digital resources. They may also annotate their reading lists with instructions for students, and copy reading lists into other courses.

Some of the advantages of Curriculum Builder:
  • circumvents the complicated download/upload/renaming process of adding online resources to BOLT
  • provides straightforward access for students within BOLT
  • potentially reduces textbook costs for students
  • provides automatic feedback to librarians about what the resources you value and use
For the most part, links to selected sources will be stable, especially to journal articles. The Library is committed to working with course instructors to maintain access to reading list resources.
