Spotlight on... Robert Dunkelberger

This is the next installment in a series of blog posts to help you get acquainted with some of the people who work in the library.  Today we introduce you to our archivist and special collections librarian.

What is your name?  Robert Dunkelberger

What is your title? Bloomsburg University Archivist and Historian, Coordinator of Special Collections

What is a typical day like for you?  My days vary greatly and never seem to go as planned.  I can be researching or assisting someone in researching historical materials from the Archives; acquiring new collections; organizing or identifying material; creating finding aids to go online; digitizing or planning the digitization of historical items; creating exhibits to display materials from the Archives or Special Collections; and reorganizing and rearranging the location of collections.  I do many of these tasks each day and this is just part of my work and never ending, since history is created every day.

What else should people know about you?  I love history and do a great deal of historical research in addition to my work as University Archivist.  I enjoy going to BU Husky football games, watching sports on television, and reading history books as well as science fiction and Cold War era spy stories.

How can people get in contact with you? Phone: 570-389-4210. Email: rdunkelb@bloomu.edu
