Book Sale

This is to remind everyone the Friends of the Bloomsburg University Library Association (FOBULA) will be holding its first-ever fall book sale from Saturday, October 24 to Monday, October 26, in the Andruss Library Schweiker Room.  The book sale is their largest fundraiser, bringing in nearly $32,000 over fifteen years, which has gone toward a number of special projects, two of which are the digitization and preservation of local and university historic materials and providing textbook scholarships to deserving students.

While response to the call for materials to sell at the fall sale has been very generous, donations of books, CDs, DVDs, video tapes, cassettes and even records can still be made.  The items can be brought to the Andruss Library Circulation Desk anytime the building is open, and if you have a large number that need to be picked up please contact me at 4210 or by email.  The Friends are looking for all types of books, both fiction and nonfiction, in GOOD condition, that would appeal to a general audience, in addition to movies and music.  Items that do not sell well they would like to discourage include outdated textbooks (more than ten years old), magazines, journals, encyclopedias and Reader's Digest condensed books.

The Friends couldn’t have raised as much money as they have without your generous donations so please give what you can.  Thank you for your past patronage and be sure to remember the Friends' book sale beginning a week from Saturday.  There will be thousands of books, many of them in history donated by former BU faculty members and their families.
